Similar to the TRX, the challenge comes from your own body weight against gravity. However other items are used for challenge, including balls, hand weights and a much bigger emphasis on quality over quantity and insane attention paid to form.
One of the reasons Pilates helps people gain an insane core is the emphasis on not only the superficial abdominal muscles, but what is known as the “power house”, which includes all four layers of abdominals (yeah, you have four!), back muscles, diaphragm and the pelvic floor, all of which must be activated all the time.
Walk away from our Pilates mat class with your head higher, shoulders back and become much more aware of how engaged and strong you can be in your core. Class available as either half hour or hour.
